Designing biomimetic environments using tissue engineering, genetic engineering, and micro- and nanotechnology.
The Zorlutuna Lab uses these tools to understand and control cell behavior, as well as study cell-cell and cell-environment interactions. Our students work to build models that mimic human tissues, allowing for the in-vitro study of various processes. Such bio-inspired systems will have an impact on not only tissue regeneration applications, but also on emerging fields of research in bioengineering such as bio-robotics and disease modeling.
