Haley Marco

Biography

Haley Marco grew up in Sacramento, CA. She attended Calvin University where she received her BS in mechanical engineering with a minor in biotechnology. Upon graduation she started working for SeaLandAire Technologies Inc, an R&D company focusing on data collection systems in difficult environments as a mechanical engineer. While working, her primary focuses were on unmanned surface vehicle projects (USVs), mechanically induced noise, and naval sonobuoy development. A lot of her work was centered around flow pattern, mechanical forces, thermal management, and system integration. After 3 years working in industry Haley has decided to pursue her PhD, in bioengineering to integrate her love for mechanical engineering and human health/biotechnology. She will be working in the TIME lab with Professor Meenal Datta, and is most interested in the lab's microgravity work as it relates to immunomechanics and the defense sector. Haley enjoys traveling, rock climbing, yoga, reading, and is a (very ametur) film photographer. She is incredibly excited to start at Notre Dame!
